How to Get Skins on League of Legends: Wild Rift – Mobile Mode Gaming

Mobile MOBAs often get a bad rep for either being too simple or sometimes pay-to-win.

However, everything changed when Riot Games announced that League of Legends is coming to mobile with Wild Rift. Mobile MOBA enthusiasts can now play a highly competitive game without the pay-to-win features that many other games offer.

If you want to learn more about Wild Rift, check out my guide below, and learn how you can enhance your gameplay with cool skins in the game.

Same MOBA, New Platform

Wild Rift is League of Legends on mobile. Everything that I loved about League of Legends is transformed into a mobile MOBA game.

From the three-pronged map down to the champions in League, all the things that I love about the game including the strategy, the roles, the skins, and everything in between are there.

Developed and published by Riot Games, Wild Rift is a 5v5 multiplayer online battle arena that pits teams of five players into a map where they use champions to fight and break the enemy base. Whoever destroys the enemy Nexus wins the game.

Alongside the many similarities of its parent game, Wild Rift also offers new features such as Poro coins, baubles, new emotes, and cosmetic skins that are exclusive only to the mobile game.

Downloading Wild Rift

Wild Rift is available for download on all mobile devices. Start by downloading the game either at the Google Play Store or the App Store

Riot has also announced that the game will be available soon on handheld devices and gaming consoles.

Take note that the game features in-app purchases through the in-game stores. The app also asks for permissions and will ask for login details during purchase.

Getting Free Skins in Wild Rift

Skins are just some of the most coveted cosmetic items in Wild Rift. While they may not pose any strategic advantage against the opposing team, champion skins are still cool to look at and are often used to show off my prowess with the champion that I have the skin with.

Skins are commonly used in the game to improve the graphics and make all the skills look unique and cool to look at.

Whether it improves your gameplay, skins are usually being purchased by players for many different reasons but having one to make yourself look cool is enough of a reason to buy one.

Most of the skins also come with unique recall animations as well as added graphics to skills and legendary skins even have their unique voice lines. If you want to know how I get free skins in Wild Rift, check out below.

Join Events

One of the main reasons why I’m racking up on skins right now is not because I purchased them through the in-game store. Wild Rift itself is giving away a lot of free skins as long as you join their events

One of the main events that are currently ongoing is the Rift-to-Rift Event where players from the Americas region can get different rewards including free random skins. Every two weeks, Wild Rift features different events and sometimes they tie into the release of a certain champion.

Most of these events often give out rewards such as baubles, emotes, and the occasional free skin. I would suggest that you keep on joining these events and missions so you will have your chance at getting skins in this game.

Finish the Tutorial

The tutorial is one of the main features in the game that is targeted towards beginners in the mobile MOBA genre especially when it comes to playing Wild Rift.

The Rift Academy will teach you the basics of the game like how you would move your champion, use their skills, take towers, and win the game. The tutorial is divided into different sessions where the information is broken down into digestible pieces.

I found that this is one of the best ways to learn more about the game. What’s more enticing to new players is that going through and finishing the tutorial will reward me with a free champion and a free random skin in the game.

While I won’t be able to choose the skin that I want, it is still quite good that the game offers premium skin even at the start of the game.

Play Ranked Games

There are three different types of games in Wild Rift that I find to be very enjoyable. The Classic mode is usually very casual and I often play with my friends through this queue. The Howling Abyss is another map that I get to enjoy with my friends.

If I do want to play in a competitive setting, the Ranked matches are always my go-to queue. Playing ranked matches can be grueling but very rewarding especially at the end of each season. Riot Games have always provided a free skin for a chosen champion in the game after each season.

To receive the Glorious skin for a certain champion every season, simply play ranked matches and get to the Gold tier and win 10 games. It is that simple. Just play ranked games and you will get a free skin.

Get Better at Wild Rift

Speaking of ranked matches, you will need all the help that you can get to reach the Gold tier and be able to receive the popular Glorious skin line for a champion.

Playing ranked matches can be very competitive. I have to wiggle my way up to Gold from the start to reach the high Diamond tier in Wild Rift.

Getting better at Wild Rift does not come overnight. You will need to spend a lot of time and effort perfecting your skill

Here are some of the tips that I can give to you when playing Wild Rift so you can get that skin at the end of each season.

Pick Three Champions to Main

There are now over 60 different champions available to play in the game and each of these champions has its specific playstyle. For a simple yet effective champion, choose between Garen, Master Yi, Annie, and Miss Fortune and rise to Silver ranks. It will then be a different story once you get out of Gold.

This is the time when you need to pick three main champions to play in ranked matches. I do this a lot so I won’t be target banned by players. If you do play an exclusive champion, make sure that it is not one of the popular champions that get banned a lot.

The reason why I’m telling you to pick a champion to main is that this will help you learn more about the champion’s strengths and weaknesses. Wild Rift is all about dedication and the more time you spend learning and mastering a certain champion, you will be able to carry your games and rise in rank.

Achieve the Objectives

What makes Wild Rift very different from many other mobile MOBAs is it is centered around objectives. There are many objectives in the game such as turrets and jungle monsters but there are three main objectives that you and your team should be fighting for in this game.

These are Rift Herald, Drakes, and Baron Nashor. Each of these objectives has an impact on the map and how I and my team play the game. Drakes add extra stats to my team while the Rift Herald helps us push turrets and enter the enemy base quickly.

Meanwhile, killing the Baron gives my team the Baron buff which enhances both the stats and the minions surrounding us which means we can easily push towards the enemy base and win the game.

Achieving these objectives in the game will surely increase your chances of winning. However, never be confident and start throwing your games as the game can still swing to the enemy’s favor and push for a comeback. This can be done especially when they can steal one of the objectives.

Understand Your Role

There are five different roles in the game and each of them plays an important part in winning. Midlaners are often mages and assassins that try to get ahead in the early game so that they can earn more gold to carry the team in the later stages. Baron laners are often tanks that help soak up damage.

Junglers often gank lanes to give your team an advantage and help you secure the objectives mentioned above. AD carries are often very weak early on, but once the carry can farm gold and buy items, they mostly carry the game to victory. These roles are often integral to the team so everyone must work together to win.

Understanding your role within the team means you get to play your part very well. Whether you are a support or a jungler, a player needs to know the strengths and weaknesses of the role for them to become effective in the game.

Conclusion

With its budding esports scene and a slew of content coming in the next few months, League of Legends: Wild Rift is just starting its rise to becoming the top mobile MOBA game all over the world.

Wild Rift might soon follow the steps of its parent game and could become the most popular mobile game in the world.

Next Battlefield Planned for Release Between October and December This Year – IGN

It looks like the next Battlefield game is being planned for a holiday (or thereabouts) release this year, at least according to EA’s financial plans.

In a slide presentation accompanying its earnings results today, EA lays out its plans for releases for the rest of its fiscal year, placing Battlefield in Q3. This is a fiscal calendar, so for EA, that means Battlefield 6 (or whatever it ends up being called) is headed this way between October and December.

[ignvideo url=”https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/05/04/battlefield-6-setting-potentially-revealed-in-leaked-screenshots-ign-daily-fix”]

The calendar also has the rest of EA’s known releases slotted in, with FIFA 22, F1 2021, and Madden NFL 22 all coming in the July through September window, NHL 22 coming around the same quarter as Battlefield, and EA Sports PGA Tour finishing off the year in the January through March 2022 window. This calendar does not include any unannounced titles, though it does note the already-announced next-gen upgrade for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Battlefield 6 hasn’t yet been formally revealed, and its formal announcement was only very recently teased by EA for a June first look. Notably, no Battlefield game was released in 2020, breaking what had previously been an annual cycle. However, when it ultimately launches, EA has said it will take “full” advantage of next-gen platforms.

No Preorder Bonus

No preorder bonuses have been announced for World’s End Club the time of this writing. If that changes at any point in the future, this is where we’ll toss that information.

What Is World’s End Club?

[ignvideo url=”https://www.ign.com/videos/2021/02/22/worlds-end-club-nintendo-switch-announce-trailer”]

A mix between a visual novel and a platformer, World’s End Club comes from the creators of the cult classics Zero Escape and Danganronpa. It’s about a group of oddball students from all over Japan who call themselves the “Go-Getters Club.” They go on a field trip to an underwater theme park but, due to some unfortunate events, find themselves trapped there. Then a clown appears and informs them that they’ll have to play a “Fate Game” to escape. Sounds dangerous. Once you do escape, you end up going on a cross-country adventure to solve yet another mystery.

The first portion of World’s End Club was originally released last year as an Apple Arcade title. That version of the game should be getting a content update with the ending around the time of the Switch version’s release.

Gabe Newell Teases Possible Valve Games Coming To Console

Gabe Newell Teases Possible Valve Games Coming To Console

The Orange Box gave console players Half-Life and Portal, but could more Steam games be coming to console? According to a recent Q&A with Valve’s Gabe Newell, it looks like it’s likely! One fan shot their shot to the king of PC and his answer has the community pretty excited for what this could mean.

One Redditor shared a clip of when they asked if any more Steam games would be coming to consoles. Newell responded, saying, “We will have a better idea about that later this year.” If you were at all curious about if this is something players want, all you have to do is listen to the clip and hear the chorus of “oooohs” that immediately happened after.

You can watch the clip right here

Obviously, we don’t know what this means quite yet, but it could go a few different ways. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has talked about bringing the Xbox ecosystem to more platforms, so this could be an indication that Xbox Game Pass could be making its way to Steam. It could also mean more Valve-specific titles could be making the jump as well, maybe titles like Dota 2, Half-Life: Alyx, and standalone for the Orange Box? We don’t know but as a PC gamer (as my primary, I play on all platforms), I’m interested to see what this means for the community. With Overwatch 2 a long way off, Team Fortress 2 making its way onto PS5 and Xbox Series X systems is enticing to say the very least.

What do you hope to see from this tease? Do you think the gaming community is getting excited over nothing, or do you think we could be seeing titles like Half-Life: Alyx and Dota 2 make the jump from PC-specific experiences? Sound off with your theories in the comment section below!
