IPL 2021: Jos Buttler’s special gift for opening partner Yashasvi Jaiswal

Rajasthan Royals (RR’s) senior batsman Jos Buttler has presented an autographed bat to his young opening partner, Yashasvi Jaiswal.

In an unfortunate development, the BCCI had to postpone IPL 2021 indefinitely on Tuesday after multiple cases of COVID-19 emerged in the bio-bubble in the last couple of days.

On Tuesday night, RR shared a picture of Jos Buttler and Jaiswal with the autographed bat, on their official social media accounts. The image was shared with the caption:

“A special gift from a special opening partner. #HallaBol #RoyalsFamily @josbuttler @yashasvijaiswal28.”

On the bat, Jos Buttler also shared a message for the young opener, which read:

“Enjoy your talent.”

Jos Buttler smashed his maiden IPL hundred against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 2 in Delhi. He hammered 124 off only 64 balls with the aid of 11 fours and eight sixes as RR trounced SRH by 55 runs.

Speaking about his fabulous innings, Jos Buttler said at a post-match virtual conference that although he hadn’t been in great nick recently, he remained positive about turning things around. Jos Buttler said in this regard:

“This is up there (among my best) and certainly my first hundred in T20 cricket. I am delighted with that. I won’t say that I have been at my most fluent of late. I haven’t quite been feeling at ease at the crease, sort of searching for something. But what has been good is keeping a good mindset. Everyday is a new opportunity, and the next game is the one where it may turn around. You just keep doing the good things. Absolutely enjoyed today. It was nice to spend some time in the middle and sort of get back to my best.”

Jos Buttler dances on ‘Gangnam Style’ with daughter Georgia

On Monday, RR shared a funny clip of Jos Buttler dancing to the famous ‘Gangnam Style’ track with his daughter Georgia and RR fielding coach Dishant Yagnik.

RR shared the video with the caption:

“Papa Gangnam Style.”

Jos Buttler’s two-year-old daughter, Georgia, is quite a hit on social media. A few months back, a cute video of her interrupting Buttler during a live interview went viral on social media.

Before the tournament came to an indefinite halt on Tuesday, Jos Buttler scored 254 runs in seven IPL 2021 games for RR at a strike rate of 153.01.

Kevin Lee calls out Mike Perry and Robbie Lawler while pursuing an opponent for a July fight

Kevin Lee calls out Mike Perry and Robbie Lawler while pursuing an opponent for a July fight

12th-ranked UFC lightweight Kevin Lee has officially announced that he will be making the move up in weight to 170-lbs and has already called out two potential opponents.

Kevin Lee also added that he still wishes to run the fight with Olivera back sometime in the future. He the following on Twitter:

“I’m moving to 170lbs for the foreseeable future. Oliveira can have the lightweights, we’ll get that back later.”

Who will Kevin Lee face at 170-lbs?

Kevin Lee has already called out two staples of the welterweight division. The first was Mike Perry, who was once seen as a future contender at 170-lbs. However, after initially making a successful start to his UFC career, Perry has since been on a poor run of form. He holds a record of 1-4 in his last five fights.

Perry most recently dropped a decision loss to Daniel Rodriguez at UFC on ABC 2. Lee is also coming off a loss. However, he is still ranked at 155-lbs, and it is unlikely a win over Perry would see him crack the top-15 of the welterweight division. Kevin Lee called Perry out on Twitter, writing:

@PlatinumPerry we fighting July 10 or what @seanshelby @danawhite.”

Could Kevin Lee face Ruthless Robbie Lawler?

Lee’s second call-out was aimed at Robbie Lawler, a former UFC welterweight champion. Lawler is a true veteran of the sport and has fought against some of the best fighters at welterweight, including Rory MacDonald, Johny Hendricks and Carlos Condit.

However, Lawler is very much in the twilight of his career and is currently on a four-fight losing streak. It should be noted that each of his four losses have been against high-level opposition: Neil Magny, Colby Covington, Ben Askren and Rafael Dos Anjos.

Lawler also still holds a ranking at 170-lbs, in the 14th position. This may well be a perfect introduction to the division for Lee. Both men are looking to get a much-needed win on their records.

Mike Perry’s response to Kevin Lee

Whilst Lawler is yet to react to Lee’s callout, Perry has since responded via an Instagram story. ‘Platinum’ Perry stated the following via Instagram:

“Idk if the time works for me but maybe you should stay in your weight class.”

This prompted a small back and forth between the two fighters and Lee replied:

“I’m coming to take your weight class so wassup.”

This led to Perry agreeing to the fight, but not until Lee has notched a win at 170-lbs:

“Go get the win July 10th, and later this year, I’m up for it,” Perry replied.

Pokemon GO: What are Strange Eggs?

Pokemon GO: What are Strange Eggs?

Pokemon GO’s most recent egg type, known as Strange Eggs or 12km Eggs, take a little more effort to acquire and hatch, but have hatchling Pokemon that players are unlikely to find in the wild.

Unlike the eggs that came before it, Strange Eggs cannot be found from spinning Pokestops. According to Pokemon GO developer Niantic, Strange Eggs must be acquired by defeating Team GO Rocket’s leaders in battles, not including their boss Giovanni. They tend to hatch Pokemon that are Poison-type, Dark-type, or those that acquire one of those types through evolution.

With a significantly smaller Pokemon pool than other eggs, trainers can expect to find very specific Pokemon from hatching.

Once Pokemon GO players have paced the 12 kilometers to hatch their egg (less with better-than-standard Incubators), they’re rewarded with one of the likely Dark or Poison-types Niantic has alluded to. Players also have the chance to hatch a Shiny Pokemon as well. The Pokemon that are hatchable from Strange Eggs are:

  • Absol (can hatch Shiny)
  • Corphish
  • Deino (can hatch Shiny)
  • Larvitar (can hatch Shiny)
  • Pawniard
  • Qwilfish (can hatch Shiny)
  • Sandile
  • Scraggy
  • Skorupi (can hatch Shiny)
  • Vullaby

Additionally, thanks to the dedicated Pokemon GO community members at The Silph Road, hatch percentages are also available. These percentages may not be perfect, as they are derived from a sample size of approximately 1,520 eggs hatched so far. However, they likely provide the best percentages currently accessible. According to The Silph Road, the hatch chances are:

  • Absol – 14.3% or 218/1520
  • Corphish – 7.8% or 118/1520
  • Deino – 2.6% or 40/1520
  • Larvitar – 17.4% or 218/1520
  • Pawniard – 10.3% or 156/1520
  • Qwilfish – 3.8% or 57/1520
  • Sandile – 3.4% or 51/1520
  • Scraggy – 12.3% or 187/1520
  • Skorupi – 4.3% or 65/1520
  • Vullaby – 23.9% or 364/1520

Before Pokemon GO trainers tackle the Team GO Rocket Leaders in an attempt to get some Strange Eggs for themselves, there are a few stipulations. According to Niantic, players will need to ensure that they have open space in their Egg Inventory, Pokemon Storage, and Item Bag. In the event that the trainer’s space in any of these three areas is full or over capacity, they won’t be able to receive a Strange Egg upon beating the Team GO Rocket Leader.
