IPL Postponed: BCCI Will “Find A Way” To Send Foreign Players Home, Says IPL Chairman | Cricket News

IPL chairman Brijesh Patel on Tuesday said the BCCI will “find a way” to arrange for the return of foreign players after the league was suspended indefinitely due to a COVID-19 outbreak in its bio-bubble. The suspension of the league was announced after Sunrisers Hyderabad’s wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha tested positive for COVID-19 along with Delhi Capitals’ veteran spinner Amit Mishra. “We need to send them home and we will find a way to do that,” Brijesh told PTI when asked how will the foreigners return home but did not elaborate beyond that.

The foreigners involved in the lucrative league are concerned about returning to their respective countries due to travel restrictions imposed in the wake of a deadly resurgence of the pandemic in India.

The BCCI had assured foreign players of a safe return earlier as well.

On Monday, cricketer-turned-commentator Michael Slater, who was doing commentary in the IPL, escaped to Maldives and launched a scathing attack on his country’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison for not allowing its citizens to return from India, calling the travel ban, till May 15, a “disgrace”.

Australia has shut its borders and not allowing any commercial flights from India because of the massive COVID-19 surge here which has led to all the players, support staff and commentators, who might have wanted to leave the IPL midway in a fix.

“If our Government cared for the safety of Aussies they would allow us to get home. It’s a disgrace!! Blood on your hands PM. How dare you treat us like this. How about you sort out quarantine system. I had government permission to work on the IPL but I now have government neglect,” Slater tweeted.

A coupe of days back, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell said that the cricketers from his country wouldn’t mind travelling in the same chartered flight that would take India, New Zealand, and England players to the UK after the IPL.

India and New Zealand are set to play the final of the World Test Championship from June 18 and will fly to England after the completion of IPL.

On Monday, Chennai Super Kings bowling coach L Balaji along with Kolkata Knight Riders bowlers Sandeep Warrier and Varun Chakravarthy had also returned positive results.

The best AX-50 loadout in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3

The best AX-50 loadout in Call of Duty: Warzone Season 3

Call of Duty: Warzone has seen a big shakeup with Season 3, including changes to the map and the weapon meta.

Even though the weapon meta has shifted, one thing will always remain a constant in Warzone. Players love to use sniper rifles to take out opposition from longer ranges or show off with incredible kill cams.

The AX-50 is not considered the best sniper rifle to use in Warzone, but it is certainly not the worst. For those who want a change of pace, it makes the perfect backup weapon for long-range fights when a medium to close range AR, or SMG, is being used.

The AX-50 can be somewhat clunky, but it is a dangerous sniper rifle in the hands of Warzone players who can hit their shot every single time.

The weapon’s accuracy is incredible, and it has massive damage and solid range as a sniper rifle should. Its control after shooting one shot and scoping in immediately to try and land another is great. Pairing this with an SMG and speeding it up is the right choice.

  • Muzzle: Lightweight Suppressor
  • Barrel: 17.0″ Factory Barrel
  • Stock: Singuard Arms Assassin
  • Rear Grip: Stippled Grip Tape
  • Perk: Presence of Mind

The Lightweight Suppressor provides sound suppression for the AX-50. One con is that it lowers the damage range just a bit, allowing stealthiness and agility with just a small sacrifice.

The barrel attachment, the 17.0″ Factory, gives this Warzone sniper rifle a better reaction time. Bullet velocity and recoil control are lowered, but ADS speed and movement speed get a nice boost.

The Singuard Arms Assassin attachment continues the mobility trend upward. ADS speed increases even further with just a tiny hit to aiming stability. The reaction time of the AX-50 will be nearly unmatched.

Stippled Grip Tape is another attachment that takes down aiming stability. It adds to ADS speed again, however, and provides a boost to sprint to fire speed. This Warzone loadout for the AX-50 is for the snipers on the go.

Last up is the Presence of Mind Perk attachment. This will help with the aim stability as Focus is improved upon. It simply allows Warzone players to hold their breath longer to line up a shot. There are no cons.

New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman BJ Watling to retire after England tour

New Zealand’s wicketkeeper-batsman BJ Watling will retire from all forms of the game after his team’s tour of England in June. The Kiwis will play two Tests against England, followed by the World Test Championship (WTC) final against India, which will be BJ Watling’s swansong.

The 35-year-old BJ Watling is New Zealand’s most successful Test wicketkeeper, with 257 dismissals – 249 catches and eight stumpings. In addition, he has also taken ten catches as a fielder.

BJ Watling has represented New Zealand in 73 Tests and has scored 3773 runs, doing so at an average of 38.11, with eight hundreds and 19 fifties. His career-best of 205 came against England in Mount Maunganui in November 2019. The veteran player has also represented New Zealand in 28 ODIs and five T20Is.

Beginning his career as a Test opener, BJ Watling later moved down the order and has been a constant presence for New Zealand in the longer format over the last decade.

Announcing his retirement from all forms of the game after the England tour, BJ Watling said:

“It’s the right time. It’s been a huge honour to represent New Zealand and in particular wear the Test baggy. Test cricket really is the pinnacle of the game, and I’ve loved every minute of being out there in the whites with the boys.

Reflecting on his career, the wicketkeeper-batsman added:

“Sitting in the changing rooms having a beer with the team after five days’ toil is what I’ll miss the most. I’ve played with some great players and made many good mates. I’ve also had plenty of help along the way, for which I’ll always be grateful.”

BJ Watling also thanked his wife Jess for supporting him wholeheartedly throughout his long career. He said in this regard:

“I’m certainly looking forward to being able to spend more time with (Jess) and the kids. I also owe a big thanks to my mum for steering me in the right direction early on and always being there for me. Although I’ve had to make this announcement ahead of the tour to England, my focus is very much on the three Tests ahead and preparing to perform in them. This tour will be a challenge on a few levels, and we know, as a team, we will need to be at the very top of our game if we want to succeed.”

BJ Watling a wonderful player and a great bloke: Gary Stead

Reacting to BJ Watling’s decision to retire, Black Caps coach Gary Stead termed him as ‘a wonderful player and a great bloke’.

Stead was quoted as saying by stuff.co.nz in this regard:

“He works really hard on his game to get improvements and always puts the team first. You just have to look at the respect he’s held in by his teammates and the opposition to appreciate his standing in the game. The records speak for themselves, and he’s been such a crucial cog in the Test team’s rise over the past decade.”

Stead described BJ Watling’s double hundred against England in 2019 as one of the best innings he has witnessed, saying:

“The attitude and fight he brings to every day and every session of a Test is what has made him such a valued member of the Black Caps. He is, without a doubt, one of our best ever wicketkeeper-batsmen.”

New Zealand’s tour of England will begin with the first of two Tests at Lord’s on June 2. The World Test Championship final between India and New Zealand will be played in Southampton from June 18 to 22.

Humberto Carrillo breaks silence after suffering an injury on RAW; sends a message to WWE Superstar

Last night on WWE Monday Night RAW, Humberto Carrillo faced Sheamus in a singles match. Around 10 minutes into the bout, Carrillo went for a sunset flip powerbomb to the outside but didn’t seem to execute it as planned.

When Humberto flipped over Sheamus he slipped and couldn’t land on his feet, which caused the Celtic Warrior to drop directly on his left leg. Sheamus’ weight landed directly on Carrillo’s hip, and the match had to be stopped.

Since then, there have been reports that Carrillo was okay backstage. Moreover, Humberto went on to Twitter to address the situation.

Sheamus was quick to respond to this tweet.

The match had resulted in an abrupt ending and was cut shorter than planned, as Sheamus was given the win.

Carrillo signaled to the camera, as well as to the referee, to indicate that he would not be able to continue. Sheamus also shuffled into position to check in on his opponent before the official decided to call for the bell.

From the looks of their exchange on Twitter, it seems like the rivalry between Sheamus and Carrillo will continue whenever the latter can get back in the ring safely.

Sheamus and Humberto Carrillo’s feud began after WWE WrestleMania

Sheamus defeated Riddle at WrestleMania in April to win the WWE United States Championship. The Celtic Warrior showed up on RAW a week later to give the roster an opportunity in the form of an open challenge.

Carrillo was quick to respond to the challenge by coming out and standing up to Sheamus. The former WWE Champion felt provoked and attacked Carrilo before the match even began.

The following week on WWE RAW, Carrillo got his payback by attacking the Celtic Warrior as soon as he stepped inside the ring. Carrillo continued to be a problem for Sheamus by interfering in his match against Mansoor the following week.

The encounter between the two superstars last night was the first match between the two, and it, unfortunately, had an unexpected ending. Carrillo seemed to be getting a proper push in the form of a WWE United States Championship program.

Hopefully, the injury doesn’t put him on the shelf for long, so we can see him return to action soon to continue his rivalry with Sheamus.
