OnePlus Launcher update gives older OnePlus phones a taste of OxygenOS 11 | Digit

OnePlus has been releasing frequent upgrades to their new devices such as the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. But, when it comes to older flagships, the company seems to be dawdling. The OnePlus 7 and 7T just received beta builds for OxygenOS 11. And, the roadmap for the stable build seems a month off.

Nonetheless, the company has found a new way to give the users a taste of the new upcoming update. They have released the OxygenOS 11 launcher available to the phones running Android 10 based OxygenOS devices. First spotted by Android Police, this new launcher update will give the older OnePlus device the look and feel of the new OxygenOS 11.

OxygenOS 11 beta build now rolling out for OnePlus 7 and 7T

The update will not feature all the bells and whistles of Android 11. Only the layout and launcher UI upgrades of the look and feel of the new generational update to come. The new launcher could see welcome improvements, but the reviews on the Google Play Store show a story otherwise as it is receiving some negative feedback.

OnePlus 7 and 7T OxygenOs 11 Rollout

Devices running Android 10 based on OxygenOS will support the new launcher upgrade. This includes OnePlus 6 series, the OnePlus 6T line, the OnePlus 7 and 7T series, and the OnePlus Nord. According to a spokesperson quoted by Android Police, the Nord N10 and Nord N100 will be added to this list later this week.

The stable version of Android 11 is yet to hit these older devices. The rollout could take longer as the OxygenOS 11 beta builds for the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T have been released last month. So, much older devices will have to wait longer in the line to get the update.

In fact, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro users have received the latest OxygenOS 11 update back in October. You can read more about that story, here

House of the Dragon: First Look at GoT Prequel’s Cast in Costume

House of the Dragon: First Look at GoT Prequel’s Cast in Costume

House of the Dragon — the upcoming Game of Thrones prequel TV series — has gotten a first look. On Wednesday, HBO unveiled three first look images featuring five House of the Dragon lead cast members. We have Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys “The Sea Snake” Velaryon, Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower. House of the Dragon is currently in production and expected to air in 2022 on HBO and HBO Max in the US, and on Disney+ Hotstar in India.

The three House of the Dragon first look images come on the back of multiple leaks from the sets of the Game of Thrones prequel, that began production late April in England. HBO has seemingly decided that it would rather Thrones fans look at the real thing, instead of chasing around low-quality leaked photos and videos. As such, we now have a proper look at House of the Dragon’s lead characters, from the Targaryen, Hightower, and Velaryon houses.

Rhaenyra (D’Arcy) is King Viserys’ “first-born child. She is of pure Valyrian blood, and she is a dragonrider. Many would say that Rhaenyra was born with everything…but she was not born a man.” Daemon (Smith) is Viserys’ “younger brother and heir to the throne, a peerless warrior and a dragonrider who possesses the true blood of the dragon.” That’s the first two above.

The Sea Snake (Toussaint) is the “most famed nautical adventurer in the history of Westeros. He built his house into a powerful seat that is even richer than the Lannisters and that claims the largest navy in the world.”

Otto (Ifans) is the “Hand of the King, who loyally and faithfully serves both his king and his realm. As the Hand sees it, the greatest threat to the realm is the king’s brother, Daemon, and his position as heir to the throne.” Alicent (Cooke) is the “daughter of Otto Hightower and the most comely woman in the Seven Kingdoms. She was raised in the Red Keep, close to the king and his innermost circle; she possesses both a courtly grace and a keen political acumen.”

Created by George R.R. Martin and Ryan Condal and based on Martin’s Fire & Blood book, House of the Dragon is set 300 years prior to the events of Game of Thrones. While the book begins with Aegon I Targaryen’s conquest of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, House of the Dragon is starting off with his great-great-grandson Viserys I. That means House of the Dragon will lead us very soon into the famed civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons.

Condal serves as co-showrunner alongside Game of Thrones veteran Miguel Sapochnik who will direct the House of the Dragon pilot and additional episodes. Greg Yaitanes (House), Clare Kilner (The Alienist), and Geeta V. Patel (Meet the Patels) will also direct episodes. Martin, Condal, and Sapochnik also serve as executive producers on House of the Dragon alongside writer Sara Lee Hess (House), Vince Gerardis (Game of Thrones), and Ron Schmidt (Watchmen). Yaitanes is a co-executive producer.

House of the Dragon will be the first Game of Thrones prequel when it arrives in 2022.

PUBG Mobile India’s New Avatar ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ Announced

PUBG Mobile India’s New Avatar ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ Announced

Battlegrounds Mobile India was announced on Thursday by Krafton, the South Korean company behind PUBG, as its dedicated game for the Indian market. The new battle royale game is touted to bring a premium, AAA multiplayer gaming experience along with exclusive in-game events such as outfits and features. Battlegrounds Mobile India will also debut with its own esports ecosystem that will include tournaments and leagues, the company said in a press statement. In addition to announcing the details about Battlegrounds Mobile India, Krafton released a video teaser of the new game that suggests similarities with PUBG Mobile, which was banned in the country last year.

Battlegrounds Mobile India will be available for pre-registrations before its official launch in the country, Krafton said. The new game is projected to be exclusive to India, and its logo will feature the tri-colour theme to attract Indian mobile gamers.

“Krafton will collaborate with partners to build an esports ecosystem while bringing in-game content regularly, starting with a series of India specific in-game events at launch, to be announced later,” the company said.

The company also claimed that all data collection and storage of Battlegrounds Mobile India would be in full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations in India and for players in the country. This could be in response to the government’s concerns over data privacy and security on PUBG Mobile that eventually led to its ban in September last year.

The government banned PUBG Mobile among other 117 mobile games that have a relation with China. Shortly after the ban, Kraton’s subsidiary PUBG Corporation acquired the publishing and distribution rights from PUBG Mobile’s publisher Tencent Games in the country.

Krafton made several attempts to convince the government to lift the ban on PUBG Mobile after acquiring its rights from the Shenzhen-based entity. The moves include plans to localise Indian data and setting up a dedicated team of at least 100 people in India. The company also announced an investment of $100 million (roughly Rs. 738 crores). But nonetheless, it seems to have ultimately decided to go with Battlegrounds Mobile India as its new title after not getting any fruitful results for some time. Teasers of the upcoming game were spotted in recent days, and the announcement on Thursday has finally solidified speculation – though we are yet to hear of a concrete timeline for launch or even pre-registrations.

Honor to introduce MagicBook X series on May 7

Honor to introduce MagicBook X series on May 7

Honor has scheduled an event for tomorrow, May 7. The brand is expected to introduce a new laptop lineup, called MagicBook X, and it seems the new devices will be thinner and more compact than ever. The venue is scheduled for 14:30 Beijing time or 6:30 GMT.

Honor to introduce MagicBook X series on May 7

The new MagicBook X could be an alternative to the MagicBook Pro – likely a device with more affordable specs while keeping the same form factor. We know practically nothing about the internals, but we can see the new MagicBook X will have two USB-A ports – one on each side. There is also a micro HDMI, a 3.5 mm audio jack and a USB-C for the power delivery.

The display appears to have thin bezels. This means the video camera had made its way between the F6 and F7 key, just like any other top-tier MagicBook laptop. We were impressed with the touchpad of previous Honor notebooks we reviewed, and we’re pretty confident this will be big and easy to navigate as well.
